The Meaning of Lonely Heart Poem by Wendy Cope

Lonely Heart

By: Wendy Cope

Can someone make my simple wish come true?
Male biker seeks female for touring fun.
Do you live in North London? Is it you?

Gay vegetarian whose friends are few,
I’m into music, Shakespeare and the sun,
Can someone make my simple wish come true?

Executive in search of something new
perhaps bisexual woman, arty, young.
Do you live in North London? Is it you?

Successful, straight and solvent? I am too –
Attractive Jewish lady with a son.
Can someone make my simple wish come true?

I’m Libran, inexperienced and blue –
Need slim non-smoker, under twenty-one.
Do you live in North London? Is it you?

Please write (with photo) to Box 152.
Who knows where it may lead once we’ve begun?
Can someone make my simple wish come true?
Do you live in North London? Is it you?

The meaning of Lonely Hearts Poem according to me:

This poem could tell about difficulty of finding someone to love or someone would love him. It also could describe a man that has a lonely heart. The man know it was hard to found to feel for or love by posting an ad, but he still did it because he want  to feel the success. And maybe he was tired of waiting for a woman that would appear from nowhere to love him because he would date a Jewish woman with a son or even with bisexual. He did not limited who he would be love. And the poem also could describe a man with desire to found someone that want to share the rest of her/him life with him. The repetition could mean he would not give up until he found what he want even it was difficult.
